On my golden birthday I continue to think about the 160 kids in the program in Cite Soleil. I wish nothing but continued success for these children, families and the community in Haiti. With that in mind I am asking friends to donate $21 to Sprint to Cite Soleil. In a year where it is very difficult to fundraise I would like to use my birthday as an opportunity to keep my nonprofit organization running and letting the community know that our program will continue to grow.
Due to uncertainties around the world surrounding the Corona Virus (COVID-19), Sprint’s weekend basketball program was temporarily halted in March to insure the safety and protection of all kids and staff. Over the last several weeks, the Sprint administration has worked to restructure our program to continue our mission to inspire, empower, and create peace, in a safe manner. Sprint to Cite Soleil is excited to return to basketball this weekend with increased safety and health precautions including multiple hand washing stations around the Sprint court. Thank you to all our staff, administrators and donors for your support during these unprecedented times. We can’t wait to finish 2020 strong, safe and healthy!
The cases of Covid-19 have continued to increase in Haiti. Sprint to Cite Soleil is not able to gather with our kids; however, we have taken action by training our local staff to educate people in Cite Soleil on how to protect themes during this widespread pandemic. Gen Espwa!
Sam Shapiro, President and Co-Founder of Sprint to Cite Soleil, is a rising junior at Wake Forest University. This month, Wake Forest’s men’s basketball team hired Steve Forbes. Sam and the Sprint to Cite Soleil family would like to congratulate Coach Forbes on his new position and wish him the best of luck. Go Deacs!
Yesterday was the 10th anniversary of the earthquake in Haiti. Sprint to Cite Soleil brought kids to the memorial to remember the lives lost during this natural disaster. We will never forget. We will always have hope. Gen Espwa!🇭🇹
This is Luxieux Dieuvens, the captain of the Sprint to Cite Soleil team. On Sunday he received the Julie Gainsley Team Player Award given in honor of our amazing friend Julie Gainsley!
